    What to do at home

    1. Remove with a tick hook or fine tweezers at the skin, no oil or alcohol
    2. Save in a jar for possible testing
    3. Clean the site with chlorhexidine
    4. Note the date — monitor for 2–3 weeks

    When to call the vet

    • →Dark urine (tea or beer colour)
    • →Lethargy, anorexia 2–14 days after bite
    • →Jaundice, pale gums
    • →High fever
